The House that Started It All

This was the dollhouse that started my journey into the fascinating world of miniatures. Working on this surprise for my 7 year-old daughter's Christmas in 1986, I thoroughly enjoyed all the aspects of the finishing of this front-opening Tiffany dollhouse. I chose from the 2 assembled houses offered at that time from the local dollhouse shop. I learned as I painted, wallpapered and wired this house.

The delight on her face as she received her unexpected gift and unwrapped boxes of miniature furniture, made the countless hours spent in finishing it, well worth the effort. She enjoyed much creative play throughout the years, sometimes by herself, other times with friends, babysitters and family. Making things for it and imagining what her dollhouse family of five would be doing kept her actively involved with it for many years to come.

After that Christmas in 1986, a For Sale sign appeared in the window of that dollhouse shop.

The rest is history. . .

In 2019, her 10 year-old daughter is shown playing with the same dollhouse. And yes, the next generation can enjoy it also. Much is the same as it was 33 years ago -- except that her mother, my daughter, went to be with the Lord on October 7th 2016.

So many lives were touched by Lynn's joyful countenance and her steadfast love for Christ, that her life's goal will be realized as others accept Christ as their Savior.

(For those of you who would ask about the family, please pray for her six children, and for her husband and his new wife who are loving the children and living the Christian life for God's glory.)
